Avimi bar Abahu [(as mentioned) Avodah Zarah (34b), Shavuot (41a), Sanhedrin (99a)] said: Abahu said, for example, Avimi, his son, fulfilled the commandment of honoring [one's parents] even though he had five sons who were ordained [to serve as judges]. For when Rabbi Abahu would read, he would call out "Abba" and go out and open [the door] and would not allow any of his sons to go [outside] (Kiddushin 31b).
He sent [a message] through Chama bar Rabba bar Abahu (Ketubot 85a). Abaye, the son of Rabbi Abahu (Kiddushin 19a), perhaps it is a scribal error and it should be Avimi.
