**Ever** was born in Year 1723, thirty years into the life of Shelach, and lived 464 years [(the fourth generation)]. He established a house of study and a yeshiva, and he was the father of all the children of Ever [(Yuchsin). From him the Jews took their name Hebrews, and to him and his descendants remained the Holy Language. Originally this language was called the language of faith (Seder HaDorot 62).
