**Peleg** was born in Year 1757 [(in Yuchsin 1727, which is an error)], thirty-four years into the life of Ever, and lived 239 years [(the fifth generation)]. He was called Peleg because from him onward the lives of men were divided and they did not live but half the days of the earlier ones. Also he died in the middle of his father's days, and at the end of his days was the generation of the Dispersion [(Yuchsin)].

**Yoktan**, Ever's second son, meaning they diminished and shortened the lives of mankind, and these are the sons of Yoktan [(see above)]: Almodad, Shelef, Hatzar Mavet, Yerach, Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, Oval, and Avimael, Sheva, Ophir, Havilah, Yovav [(Sefer HaYashar)].
