Entry 528 • Seder Tannaim v'Amoraim

Rabbi Elazar son of Rabbi Tzadok [(see what was stated above regarding Rabbi Elazar son of Rabbi Tzadok among the Tannaim)] in the chapter of Lulav and Aravah, and it appears that he was an Amora. Ivo and Chizkiyah, the sons of his daughter, were before him. [A false testimony was given that Ivo and Chizkiyah were before Rabbi. And Ivo, the father of Rabbi, was before Rabbi Elazar son of Rabbi Tzadok (see there) as stated in Sukkah (Mishnah 44b)].

And so it was said in the name of Shmuel that one should not walk three parasangs on Shabbat. [It should be stated: and so it was said in his name, one should not walk three parasangs on Shabbat. And after several names of Amoraim, the lineage of Rabbi Elazar son of Rabbi Yitzchak was brought, and Ivo and Chizkiyah, the sons of his daughter, were with him, and Ivo read before him. There is a confusion here, for they were before Rabbi Elazar son of Rabbi Tzadok as written above.

Therefore, there is a typographical error in his words. And indeed, you will not find throughout the entire Talmud Rabbi Elazar son of Rabbi Yitzchak except in Horayot (13b). Also there, there is a typographical error, for immediately there it states the same thing in the name of Rabbi Elazar son of Rabbi Tzadok, and although there is a Rabbi Elazar son of Yitzchak from the village of the South that I will write about shortly, it seems that this was an ancient one in the days of Rabbi Yishmael].
