רב אחדבויה

Rab one, Achavuyah bar Metana, said: Rav Metana and Rava bar Metana were colleagues of Rav Yehuda, and his brother Rav Tovi bar Metana and Rava bar Metana were colleagues of Abaye. [And it seems there is a confusion in the matters, as it is written that Rava bar Metana was as if he were the brother of Rav Achavuyah and Rav Tovi. And later on, Tovi bar Metana and Rava bar Metana are mentioned, for the father of Rava was another Metana and they are not one (see above regarding Metana, what is stated there).

Rav Metana said, and some say it was Rav Achavuyah bar Metana who said: Rav Shabbat (Seder 2, section 2). Rav Achavuyah said: Rav Metana said: Rav Shabbat (24a), and it is a mistake, for it should be: Rav Achavuyah bar Rav Metana, and this is also found in the Ashrei].
