Oshaia the man of Tzriya, and in the Jerusalem Talmud at the end of Bava Kamma, it is stated that Abba Oshaia was a launderer and his garments were made of wool, so that it would not be said that he was a thief. He returned a lost item to a non-Jew for the sake of the sanctification of HaShem, for he was pious [(Jerusalem Talmud, chapter Elu Metziot). And when his blood was spilled, his bed floated in the air, and his generation would recite concerning him, "If a man were to give all the wealth of his house for love" (Vayikra Rabbah, chapter 51).
He was born on the day that Rabbi Avin died, as it is stated in Kohelet, verse "The sun rises"]. And when Abba Oshaia died, Rabbi Yehoshua, his son, was born, [thus it is written in the Yuchsin in the name of the book of Shmuel.
However, in Bereishit Rabbah, chapter 1, section 5, the term "his son" is not mentioned. And the Yuchsin made for him a separate section].
