Avtolmus [(i.e., Abtalion in the Mishnah, Chagigah 2:1, Ediyot 1:3, Pe'ah 5:6)] was the head of the court from the descendants of Sennacherib [(as stated in Gittin and Sanhedrin)]. Shmaiya, his colleague [(see there). Shimon ben Shetach and Yehuda ben Tabai were their teachers (Pirkei Avot 1:1), and the chain of tradition (Pe'ah 5:2) states they received from Yehoshua ben Perachiah and Shimon ben Shetach, meaning they did not receive from Yehoshua ben Perachiah].
Hillel and Shammai were his students. [And since they were converts, they were unable to speak the Holy Name, and they said there is no place for "hin," and they were granted permission to judge Israel to be their mother from Israel, and it is found in Rome that a decree was made in the name of Avtalion when he was an uncircumcised person (Chain of Tradition 25:2)]. In their time, Akavya ben Mahalalel [(see there)].
And Admon and Hanan and the sons of Beitira, and what the Rambam wrote about Rabbi Miyasha being in their time is not evident, and in their time was Yehuda ben Doraitai [(see there). They did not live long, only six years (see Part 1, Chapter 1, Year 572). The Geonim wrote that Avtalion and Shmaiya are buried in Gush Halav, and Rabbi Yitzchak from Gush Halav, and Rabbi Meir the Miracle Worker; I do not know who these two are. (Adrammelech and Sharezer, the sons of Sennacherib, for having killed their father (Kings 18 and in part 96) came from the reincarnation of Shmaiya and Avtalion (G"n).
Aristotle was a spark of Avtalion who taught students that those who are not respectable become Sadducees, and likewise Aristotle was of their kind, and therefore in the end he repented and was reincarnated in Antoninus who learned from our holy Rabbi. (G"n at the end of the book and see also Ma'ayan Ha'Nachal 25) and see Part 1, Chapter 1, Section 1, the soul of Zechariah was reincarnated in him)]:
