**Lamech** was born in Year 874, 187 years after Methuselah, and lived 777 years. [In Seder HaDorot 7 it is written that he was the first to take two wives: one sat sequestered and mourning like a widow, and one for beauty whom he gave a sterilizing potion and adorned her like a bride and fed her delicacies, and so it is concluded. But see how he erred in what is explicit in the Torah (Bereishit 4:19), that the Lamech who took two wives was the son of Methushael son of Mehujael mentioned above (see Year 395)].
