HaGaon Moshe Isserles authored Sefer Mechir Yayin in the year 5316 during the time of the plague in the city of Shidlov.

In the province of West Fallen, before the fortress of Parminer, two parasangs from the city of Haml, a spring of living water was found that was sour and bitter, called "Zuyer Brunen." It was healthy and good, strengthening and healing the body. In the year 5316, many who were stricken with boils, the lame, the leprous, those with pains in their teeth, eyes, ears, and other ailments were incidentally healed, until thousands and tens of thousands came from distant lands - all the blind, lame, and other afflicted - until after several months the power of the spring ceased and they were not healed as much, only returning to their original condition [(Tzedah LaDerech, Part 2)].
