Rabbi Avraham Kohen, a Spaniard, was chief rabbi of Bologna. He printed Sefer Chassidim and made a commentary on the questions of Rabbi Achai. He died in 5310 [(see year 5296)]. Rabbi Ovadiah bar Yaakov the physician Sforno authored a commentary on the Torah and Sefer Or HaShem [and Song of Songs and Ecclesiastes; Mishpat Tzedek, commentary on Job; Or Amim, responses to heretics and matters of the soul, 5297; commentary on Psalms].

He died in 5310 and was a rabbi in Italy [(Sha'arei Kedusha 64b)].
