Rav Bivi HaLevi bar Mar Rav Rabba from Nahar Pakod ruled after him in Sura for 12 and a half years from year 4527 until year 4538. [(It is written in Sefer Yashan that Rav Bivi Gaon composed the book Basar Al Gechalim, and so too Likutei MaHaRIL, but I do not know if this is him.

However, in Rokeach, section 267, it is written that Rav Yehuda Gaon composed it, and in Siftei Yeshenim it is written that Rabbeinu Shmuel HaLevi, and some attribute it to Rav Tut).] And Rash"b in Yuchsin wrote that Rav Bivi ruled at the time of the Geonim Rav Huna Mar HaLevi and Mar Rav Menashe, and they instituted in Pumbedita to collect for the ketubah and for the sick from movable property, and there is some confusion in his calculation [(Tzemach David) (see above year 4545)].
