**Rabban Shimon** ben Hillel the Elder [(generation 8)] - the beginning of his Nesi'ut was in year 3768. He was the first to be called by the name Rabban [(see further at Rabban Gamliel the Elder)] and he did not prolong his days. He received from his father [(Tzeda, see there)].

**Rabban Yochanan** ben Zakkai also received from Hillel and Shammai - reception 35 [(and according to Yuchsin in Seder HaDorot, recipient 30)]. And the limitation on the ways of the world and the Abarbanel say that afterwards the reception of Rabban Yochanan ben Zakkai continued another 2 generations after Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel who was killed. And his yeshiva began around year 3792 [(see above year 3832) (Tzeda)].

Rabbi Chanina ben Dosa learned from him [(see there)]. Chanamel the Egyptian and Yishmael ben Piavi, two great Kohanim, were in the days of Hillel and Rabban Yochanan ben Zakkai [(Yuchsin in Seder HaDorot at Rabbi Chanina ben Dosa)].

**Rabban Gamliel** the Elder received from his father Rabbi Shimon ben Hillel [(generation 9)] and he lived until 18 years before the destruction, which was year 3810. He was recipient 9 of the sages of the Mishnah and reception 35 to the end [Tzeda (and in Yuchsin (there) reception 31)]. Shmuel HaKatan and Nachum the scribe were in his days: Year 3769.

**Arkilos** (Archelaus) son of Hordos died in year 3769.

**Hordos Antipater** and some call him Tetrarch, son of Hordos the first and brother of Arkilos, was the 2nd king of the House of Hordos in year 3769. He was very wicked and a destructive man who killed many of the sages of Israel, and he took his brother Philippos's wife during his lifetime. And Yochanan the Kohen Gadol rebuked him about this, and he killed him along with many of the sages of Israel.

And when Caesar Tiberius heard of his evil deeds, he expelled him from the land. And he died in the 13th year of his reign, year 3781 [(and likewise Sha'ar HaDorot 25, and in Yuchsin Ma'amar 5 section 6 it is written that he reigned in year 3774 and reigned 24 years and divided the kingdom into 4 parts)].
