**Hillel and Shammai** received from Shemayah and Avtalyon in year 3728 [(generation 7)] - reception 32 [(and Yuchsin wrote recipients 29)]. And his lineage continued for 10 generations. Until Hillel the Nesi'im were anonymous [(see above the letter Kuf, 148)]. Hillel and Shimon his son and Rabban Gamliel the Elder his son and Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel - these 4 conducted the Nesi'ut for 100 years before the destruction of the Temple [(Shabbat 15a)].

And even though the kingship was from the Chashmona'im and Hordos, the Nesi'ut was always from the house of David (and this Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel was killed at the destruction of the Temple). Yonatan ben Uziel was a student of Hillel. And in his generation was Rabbi Nechunya ben HaKanah, from him is Sefer HaBahir (and a secret there that is attributed to him, and Sefer HaTemunah).
