**In year** 3 of Koresh king of Persia, a matter was revealed to Daniel [(Daniel chapter 10)]. And Koresh was killed in the 3rd year of his reign [(see Tzeda chapter 2 and Josephus section 50 chapter 2)]. For Koresh reigned in Persia for thirty years, but did not reach the general kingdom, meaning the kingdom of Bavel, until year 3390 when the 70 years were completed, and in year 3392 he died and Kambisi his son reigned after him.
Year 3392 of the Jewish calendar.
**Kambisi** (Cambyses) son of King Koresh reigned after his father in year 3392, he was the 2nd king of Persia, and they wrote that he is Artachshasta the first mentioned in Ezra [(chapter 4)] who stopped the building of the Temple. And some say that the story of Yehudit with Alipornes (Holofernes) was in the days of King Kambisi [(Ma'or Einayim)], but it is written that Yehudit was in the days of the second Artachshasta, see there.
**Daryavesh Maga** was the 3rd king of Persia, he reigned after him and reigned for one year and died.
**Daryavesh Aixirkis** was the 4th king of Persia. Some say he is Artachshasta the second mentioned [(Nechemyah 12)]. And in his days there was a darkening of the sun, and on that day stars of heaven were seen, and this did not last long until wars broke out in the land of Yavan (Greece) for 18 years and destroyed the land. Also Nehemiah son of Chachalyah, the cupbearer of the king, asked permission to go to Yerushalayim.
Daryavesh reigned for 19 years.
**Brisisi** his son was the 5th king of Persia, he reigned after him.
**Daryavesh Arta** was the 6th king of Persia, he reigned after him for one year and died.
**Artachshasta** was the 7th king of Persia, and he was a great and enlightened king. He returned to the Yehudim all the vessels of the Temple and was very good to them. And some say he is Achashverosh and the story of Esther was in his days. And there are those who disagree.
**Artachshasta** the Persian was the 8th king of Persia, he reigned after him for eight months and died.
**Srianos** was the 9th king of Persia, he reigned after him for approximately 8 months and died.
**Daryavesh Nota** was the 10th king of Persia, he reigned after him.
**Artachshasta** Manimon was the 11th king of Persia, and he was called Artachshasta the Great, and because of this some said he is the Achashverosh of Esther.
**Daryavesh Oto** son of King Manimon was the 12th king of Persia, and he was killed by the king of Bagoi.
**Arsis** son of Daryavesh Oto was the 13th king of Persia, he was wicked and an oppressor, and the king of Bagoi mentioned above killed him by poison.
**Daryavesh** the last, son of Arsman, was the 14th king of Persia. Alexander of Macedon rose up against him, and Daryavesh fled to Madai. Besos, the general of his army, gathered troops and killed him, saying that Alexander would reward him. But Alexander was angered by this news and he tortured Besos with severe torments and a shameful death.
And he buried Daryavesh with great honor and mourned for him, and thus Daryavesh perished with disgrace, and so too all the kingdom of Persia, and the kingdom of Yavan (Greece) took over the world.
**Achashverosh** of Queen Esther reigned after Koresh in year 3392. For the 3 years of Koresh were interrupted [(as Seder Olam chapter 28 says)], and he reigned for 14 years [(Seder Olam chapter 25)]. And at the beginning of his reign, he wrote a decree of accusation [(Ezra 4)], and the building of the Temple was stopped [and see Tzeda].
