Aviyah died in the year 2983.

Asa son of Aviyah, king of Yehuda, reigned for 41 years from the year 2983 until the year 3024 [(Tzemach David)]. And his mother's name was Ma'achah daughter of Avishalom [(Melachim 1 15)]. Yehoram and Azaryah son of Oded [and in Divrei HaYamim 2 15 it says "and upon Oded the prophet came"—this means Azaryah son of Oded, and the Radak explained that Oded the prophet prophesied about this matter (and see above year 2962)] and Chananyah the seer were Kohanim Gedolim and Yehu son of Chanani was a prophet [(Seder HaKabbalah)].

And he did what was right and removed his mother from being queen and burned her idol. [She was not the mother of Asa but rather the mother of Aviyah and the mother of his father, whom he calls "his mother" (Mekhilta)].
