**Lamech**, father of Noah, died in year 1651, 595 years into the life of Noah [(and in Seder HaDorot it says 7, meaning 590, a typographical error)]. But he did not walk in the ways of his father Methuselah with all his heart, etc. And all the sons of men who knew the Lord died completely in that year, so as not to see their brothers and relatives in the calamity of which the Lord had spoken. At that time the Lord said to Noah and Methuselah: "Speak to the sons of men all that I have told you, perhaps they will return," etc.

And so they did, but they did not listen, etc. And the Lord said to Noah: "The end of all flesh has come," etc. "And you, take for yourself gopher wood and go to a certain unknown place and make for yourself an ark." And in the year 595 of Noah's life, he began to make the ark [(Sefer HaYashar)]:
