Entry 811 • Seder Tannaim v'Amoraim

Bruriah, the daughter of Rabbi Chanina ben Teradyon, the wife of Rabbi Meir, was wise. She is mentioned in the Beraita in the Tosefta of Keilim, chapter 8, and Rabbi Yehoshua said, "Bruriah spoke well." [This is brought there in Rabbi Shimon's Mishnah, chapter 4. It is also found in the Aruch, entry "Klastra" (see above regarding Rabbi Halfta, a man from Kfar Chanania) and in the book Keritot, section of the teachings, gate 2, section 193, where the daughter of Rabbi Chanina ben Teradyon argues with her father, and the Halacha follows her words in the Tosefta of Keilim, chapter 4.

Thus, in two places, the Halacha is in accordance with her.] And in the chapter of Tamid, it is taught [(Sukkah 2b)] that the Gemara derives a teaching from the Rabbis on the day of the festival; nevertheless, she did not fulfill her obligation in three years, etc., to study the book of genealogies. [(And regarding Rabbi Yehoshua's statement, "Bruriah spoke well," there is a question, and I have written about it on a separate page). She is a reincarnation of Bat Sheva, who taught Shlomo and warned him; thus, she is called to the students and was seduced by one student (see above regarding Rabbi Meir), and that student was the soul of Uriyah, and she was the cause of his death, and now he is the cause of her death (Gittin 57b).

And see what is written about her matter and her end in relation to Rabbi Meir.]
