ר' בנימין בר יפת

Rabbi Benjamin, son of Yefet, was a student of Rabbi Yochanan, and he did not clarify the words of Rabbi Yochanan as did Rabbi Chiya, son of Abba [(see there) Berakhot (38b)]. When Rabbi Zeira ascended, he found him saying in the name of Rabbi Yochanan [Shabbat (53a)]. He said that Rabbi Yosi [(perhaps it should be Asi)] asked Rabbi Yochanan [in Tzidon, and some say that Rabbi Shimon ben Yaakov from Tzur asked Rabbi Yochanan (see there)], and I heard [Berakhot (33a)].

Rabbi Ila said, Chulin (52b). Rabbi Eleazar said, Yoma (29a), Sanhedrin (7a), Shevuot (18b), Megillah (16b), many discourses. He was discussing with Rabbi, and Rabbi came before Rabbi Yitzchak of Jerusalem, Sanhedrin, chapter one. In the name of Rabbi Yonatan.

Rabbi Benjamin said in the name of Rabbi Eleazar, Ta'anit (29b), perhaps he is the son of Yefet who said many times in the name of Rabbi Eleazar, his burial is in the village of Miron (see Rashbi).
