Entry 495 • Seder Tannaim v'Amoraim

Elazar [on the curtain, 485 of Shekalim]: [Notes: Elazar, [1) Rabbi Abba bar Zammina in the name of Rabbi Elazar the Minor, thus it is written in the genealogies and similarly in Tosafot Shabbat, chapter one (12, section two), but it is a typographical error and should be in the name of Rabbi Zair and Elazar is a typographical error and not correct. And examine in its place and you will see how many mistakes there are regarding this in the Talmud and in the book of genealogies. 2) In Sukkah (M. 44b) it is said that Aibo was standing before Rabbi Eliezer, son of Rabbi Tzadok, and it is uncertain, and in the genealogies it is read before Rabbi Eliezer, son of Rabbi Yitzchak, and in the Shas it is not correct.

And examine in the order of Tanaim and Amoraim regarding Rabbi Eliezer, son of Rabbi Tzadok, what is mentioned there. 3) In Horayot (13b) Rabbi Elazar, son of Rabbi Yitzchak, and that matter is immediately with Rabbi Tzadok. 4) In Sanhedrin (14a) and HaShem appointed elders, etc., and Rabbi Eliezer, son of Rabbi Shimon, should be a hearing. 5) In Shemot (chapter 8) Rabbi Gamliel the Elder and Rabbi Eliezer the son of Avina eulogized Shmuel the Small, and it is uncertain how Rabbi Gamliel the Elder died before Rabbi Eliezer ben Azariah was born and it is not correct, and perhaps it should be Rabbi Eliezer ben Arakh. 6) In Eruvin (23a) in the Mishnah I heard from Rabbi Elazar, it should be Eliezer, and in the Shas it is not correct. 7) In Nazir (56b) in chapter seven Rabbi Eliezer says in the name of Rabbi Yehoshua, it should be Rabbi Elazar, and he is Rabbi Elazar ben Shamua, note what I have proven because in three instances in the Gemara and in Rashi and Tosafot Eliezer should be Elazar, and in the Shas it is not correct. 8) In Eruvin (65b) Rabbi Eliezer asked from Rav, it should be Elazar, and similarly in chapter the one who injures (chapter seven, section one and two). 9) In Rosh Hashanah, chapter two (24a) in the passage Rabbi Elazar, son of Rabbi Tzadok, said if he is not seen in his time he is not sanctified, Plimo says, etc., Rabbi Elazar, son of Rabbi Tzadok, says whether this way or that way he is not sanctified, thus the words of Rabbi Elazar, son of Rabbi Tzadok, contradict each other. Indeed, examine Rashi in the first chapter of Rosh Hashanah (8b) regarding "and you are not," according to Rabbi Elazar, son of Rabbi Shimon, who says later in chapter two whether this way or that way he is not sanctified, thus there (page 24) the aforementioned is a typographical error and should be Rabbi Elazar, son of Rabbi Shimon, who says whether this way or that way, etc. 10) In Ta'anit (4b) and who said Rabbi Yochanan thus, and did Rabbi Elazar not say the law is according to Rabbi Gamliel, and there (6, section one) regarding that matter and Rabbi Chisda said the law is according to Rabbi Gamliel, and perhaps one is a typographical error and not correct.

And what is mentioned and Rabbi Elazar said is a typographical error and should be Elazar, and thus it is in the Shas and thus it is (10a). And regarding what Rabbi Elazar questioned Rabbi Yochanan, since Rabbi Elazar is a student of Rabbi Yochanan, it is assumed that Rabbi Yochanan, his teacher, stated it as mentioned in the rules, and as Tosafot Yoma (4, section one) states, and from one person to another it is said that Rabbi Elazar was a student friend of Rabbi Yochanan]:]
