רבין סבא

Ravin Saba was before Rav Pappa [in Bava Batra (106b) it is translated that Ravin Saba was before Rav, in Kiddushin (53b), and the explanation of his words is that Rav Huna bar Rav Yehoshua, who was a colleague of Rav Pappa (see there), was among the latter ones after Rav Huna; therefore, Ravin Saba cannot be one person, and it must be that there are two]. And in the chapter "How to Roast" [(Eruvin 74b)], he prepared a dish for Rav; therefore, there are two, or it could be that Rav Pappa is Rav Pappa Saba.
