Hillel and Yehudah, the sons of Rabbi Gamliel, were involved in joyous occasions (Rosh Hashanah 28). There was an incident with Hillel and Yehudah, the sons of Rabbi Gamliel, who entered (as mentioned in Tosefta Shabbat 28) to Kibul, and thus they are the ones mentioned below shortly, and there is no mention of Ben Zakkai nor of Rabbi Tarfon. They continued before them, the sons of the city, pipes of wine and oil.
It is to be questioned who this Rabbi Gamliel is; if it is Rabbi Gamliel of Yavneh who saw Rabbi Yochanan ben Zakkai, nevertheless, at that time he would have been called Rabbi Yochanan ben Zakkai, for he was called Ben Zakkai in his youth, and thus it must be that this Rabbi Gamliel is Rabbi Gamliel the Elder, and this is a question. Perhaps this is why it was established in Shas that they entered to Rabbi Tarfon, thus they are the sons of Rabbi Gamliel of Yavneh (and above shortly).
Furthermore, who brought Ben Zakkai to Babylon, for Rabbi Yochanan ben Zakkai was in Eretz Yisrael: Hillel and Yehudah, the sons of Rabbi Gamliel, in the chapter "Where They Used to Practice" [(variant reading A') entered to wash in Kibul, and they were told that it is not customary for two brothers to wash together, and they went out in golden cloaks on Shabbat, as stated in Tosefta 2 of Moed Katan. The genealogy states that Rabbi Gamliel, the son of our holy teacher, had two sons, Hillel and Yehudah, and he is called Rabbi Yehudah Nasi.
And so it is written in the book "Ten Statements," statement "Investigate the Law," part 2, chapter 19, as mentioned in the commentary "Hand of Yehudah," section 42. This Hillel stated in chapter 2 of Avot, "Do not separate yourself from the community" (see Rabbi Shimon ben Gamliel the Elder).
