Rabbi Shimon Ginzburg was a craftsman in skills and a master of knowledge, a pious chief, and furthermore he was wealthy with several hundred thousand gold coins - such great and vast wealth was not found in his generations in Ashkenaz. He passed away seven days before Shemini Atzeret in the year 5346. He left sons who filled his place, men of truth, sages, and men of understanding (Tzemach David).

Rabbi Eliezer ben Rabbi Eliyahu HaRofeh Ashkenazi - his name went forth throughout all the land. He composed Sefer Yosef LeKach [on Megillat Esther, printed 5336.] And Ma'aseh HaShem [which is a commentary on the Torah, printed 5342.] He was head of the rabbinical court in Krakow and passed away in the year 5346 or 5347 (see year 5301) (Tzemach David).
