In the year 5248 once the king's physician Rabbi Yitzchak HaMon went to the city of Grenada, and one of them made his companion swear by the life of the king that he would let him go and he did not listen. And he sat down again and made him swear by the life of that physician and he was appeased. And the listeners took this matter and all the people rose up as one and killed all the Jews [(Shomer HaDat, section 112, section 2)]:
