Rabbi Shem Tov son of Rabbi Yosef Shem Tov, teacher in Spain and a kabbalist, passed away in the year 5190 [(authored Sefer HaEmunot, and a book called Toat Neveh he criticizes the Ra'avad and the Rambam and the Ralbag, but Rabbi Moshe Alashkar answered him and refuted his arguments, and this great scholar was a comprehensive sage and authored responsa in laws. Shomer HaDat, letter 62, section 2).] And his son Rabbi Yosef made a commentary on Sefer HaMiddot and on Sefer HaMoreh [(Yuchsin in the generations of the Acharonim).

In the year 5190 there was a decree in the city of Ashishi in Provence, Terumat HaDeshen, section 241 [(Shomer HaDat)], decrees in the community of Worms [see Sefer Maaseh Nissim, section 10], and they accepted the fast of the 12th of Adar for generations, and the heads of the city killed the Jews and burned the houses, and the Christians made a goose through sorcery that flew and sat in whatever house where a Jew was hiding, and one sage dressed in the clothes of a priest and preached in their house of prayer [(see there).] And in that year there was a flood of water in the province of Bohemia five times one after another, also in other lands, and many villages were destroyed—people and animals—and there was a great famine, [(Tzeda LeDerekh, section 2)]:
