Rav Mevasser HaKohen was appointed by Rabban of Pumbedita as Rosh Yeshiva, and David son of Zakkai, the Exilarch, appointed Rav Kohen Tzedek in the year 4676. And the duration of their dispute was five years until 4680, and then they made peace between them and there were then two yeshivot. And Rav Mevasser died in the year 4685 in Kislev, in the ninth year of his reign. And that Rabban was removed to Rav Kohen Tzedek, and he reigned alone for another twelve years from 4685 until 4695 [(Tzed"h)].
