Mar Rav Chinanai from Bei Gidura ruled in Neharde'a after Rav Mari's appointment in year 4374 [(Rash"b).] Emperor Heraclius saw through the wisdom of the constellations that the Roman kingdom would be subjugated to the circumcised people, and he commanded to kill all the Jews who refused to convert, and so did the King of France. He did not know that these words referred to the Arabs who are also circumcised [(Tzemach David, Part 2).

The faith of the Ishmaelites began in year 545 after the destruction, which is year 4374. Rash"b Yuchsin, Shada"k, pages 55b and 36b. And in Da'at, part 2, he wrote that in year 4271 Muhammad was born and the faith of the Ishmaelites grew, and according to the order he arranged there of 237 years one after another, it should read 261, but there is an error there. And on page 107b he wrote 532 after the destruction, 69 (see above years 4271 and 4352)].
