**Alexander** of Macedon became king at age 19 over the Greeks in the land of Macedon in year 3442. For according to Seder Olam as explained in the first chapter of Avodah Zarah (16), the kingdom of Persia stood before the Temple for 34 years. Adding to 3408 which was the beginning of the building of the Temple, it totals 3442, which was the beginning of the kingdom of Yavan (Greece) and the kingdom of Alexander.

**Chaggai, Zechariah, and Malachi** [(and Ezra, Sha'ar HaDorot)] died in year 3442, and at that time prophecy ceased from Israel [(year 3408 to 3442 = 34 years (Seder Olam), and there is a typographical error, it should be 3442)]. And Ra'avad and Yuchsin in Seder HaDorot wrote that they died in year 3448 [(and this also matches what the Kuzari says in section 2:40 that prophecy ceased after the building of the Temple)].
