**Haman** cast the lot (pur) in the 12th year of his reign, year 3404. We find that Esther did not reveal her people and her birthplace until the 5th or 6th year of her reign, because she did not reveal it until the 12th month of his lot, which was an amazing thing [(Tzeda)]. Haman's mother was called Amatla'i daughter of Orvati [(Parshat HaSefinah, Tzeda)] in the book of Sanhedrin it says her name was Eida.

Some say she was a descendant of Amalek.

**Mordekhai** lived more than 400 years [(Menachot chapter Rabbi Yishmael, see Rashi and Shekalim chapter 8 and Rambam in the second chapter of Mishnayot and Tosafot chapter Merubah)]. And he is found at the end of the reign of the Chashmona'im and he was called also Petachyah [(Sha'ar HaDorot). But Tosafot in chapter Rabbi Yishmael mentioned above (section 64) and it is difficult to say that he lived for so long, see there].

**Mordekhai** [was also involved in the incident of that man for whom a miracle was performed, it was to raise his son. And because Mordekhai was derelict from Torah study while he was great, therefore Abaye expounded negatively about him. Since he was the king's second-in-command, this was done to him because he did not have the reward of nursing. And Rav Yosef expounded positively about him, that a miracle was done for him because of his care for others, that his reward of nursing was not given to him in his lifetime but was stored for him for the World to Come, as mentioned in Megillah.]

**Mordekhai and Esther** were buried in the village of Bira. They brought them from the land of Elam, and to the north to the village where Yeshayahu the prophet is buried [(Gedolei Yisrael)]. And in the book Masa'ot Binyamin, Mordekhai and Esther were buried in Shomron.
