**Yoash** (Joash) son of Achazyahu became king over Yehudah at age 7 and reigned 40 years from year 3061 until 101 [(Tzeda)]. Yehoyada and Pidah were High Priests. Zechariah son of Yehoyada was a priest and prophet [(see year 100). Evyatar son of Achimelech is Yoash, who is the remnant of Nov, and he is the remnant of the seed of David, and this is what the Sages said: had Evyatar not remained, none of the seed of David would have remained (Bereishit).

Yoav the general of the army whom Benayahu son of Yehoyada killed in the days of Shlomo was reincarnated in Yoash whom Yehoyada the priest crowned, for Yehoyada wanted to rectify what Benayahu his son had done to Yoav, but this was not rectified because afterward Yoash returned and killed Zechariah who was a reincarnation of Benayahu who was killed in the days of Shlomo. Even though he killed him justly, Yoav was almost the head of the Sanhedrin, and the Holy One, Blessed be He, does not bring calamity through the righteous, so Benayahu needed to be punished for that sin, therefore he was reincarnated in Zechariah and was killed by Yoash who was a reincarnation of Yoav, and the 2 was exchanged for a 6 in the method of gematria 2-6 (Chasal Ma'ayan 5:25).

And he concludes in the book Na'ach that Benayahu and Zechariah were both priests. And behold, Zechariah, before he was killed, rebuked and insulted Yisrael by saying: Why do you transgress the commandments of HaShem, as recorded in Divrei HaYamim. Even though this was justified, he was punished as the Sages said regarding Aviyah son of Rechavam, that the Holy One, Blessed be He, only wants advocates for Yisrael, therefore he was punished and was later reincarnated, and his soul was divided among two righteous ones: Shemayah and Avtalyon.

Shemayah was the spirit of Zechariah and Avtalyon the Av Beit Din was the soul of Zechariah, who were proper converts and they first clung to other gods like what he rebuked Yisrael for. And perhaps that priest who said "Let the nations go" was a reincarnation of Yoash, etc., and afterward his spirit was reincarnated in Rabbi Moshe Cordovero, his soul in Rabbi Eliyahu Di Vidas, therefore they loved each other, thus far.]
