David reigned over all Israel in Yerushalayim for 32 years, from the year 2892. Even though the verse says he reigned for forty years, it does not count precisely the extra six months, and then he brought up the Ark from Kiryat Yearim, where it had been for twenty years, [as stated in] Shmuel Bet 7:7 [(Tzemach David)]. In his days there was Evyatar the 22nd Kohen, a prophet and seer, and his teacher was from Mefiboshet ben Shaul and Achitofel, and his distinguished teacher was Ira the Yairite the Kohen, and he gave him all his tithes [(Seder Hadoros)].

He received transmission 2 from the prophets and 16 from Sinai [(Tzemach David). And Yuchsin wrote he received from Shmuel, receiving 6 from Moshe, Yehoshua, Pinchas, Eli, Shmuel, David].

Gad the prophet is buried in the city of Chalchuli [(BeHaDi)].

Achiya HaShiloni was a Levite who received from Shmuel in Year 2882 [(see Year 387)]. And his house was Ido the seer, and Shemaya the prophet, and Achimaatz the 22nd Kohen, and after him Azarya the 22nd, received from David transmission 2 from the prophets and 17 from Sinai [(Tzemach David). And the Raavad wrote that Achiya was of the court of David and anointed Yerovam. And according to Chazal he was among those who left Egypt (see 387).

The Rambam wrote that he was among those who left Egypt and heard from Moshe, and was young in the days of Moshe, and he received from David and his house. And Tzemach David and Yuchsin wrote that he received 7, that he received from David and his house, and lived more than 400 years].

Achiya [HaShiloni was reincarnated in the Rashbi (see there)].

Uriah, on the 7th of Sivan, gave Uriah a divorce to his wife, and on the 25th of Elul, Bat-Sheva was brought to David at age seven. And on Yom Kippur his sin was forgiven [(Seder Hadoros 14, 2). Zohar Bereishit 91b: on the 25th of Nissan a proclamation went forth about David throughout all Israel, and David fasted with Yoav for seven days of Sivan. And Aram afflicted the children of Ammon.

Sivan, Tammuz, Av, and Elul - he married in the second [month], and on the 25th of Elul, David - what about Bat-Sheva at age seven? And on Yom Kippur HaKadosh Baruch Hu forgave him. There, in the 7th of Adar, a proclamation went forth and they gathered on the 15th of Iyar, and on the 15th of Elul she was age seven. And on Yom Kippur he was informed that HaShem has removed your sin.

David was a spark of Yehuda, and Bat-Sheva was Bat Shua whom Yehuda married, and also Tamar (see Year 2226 at length). Avshalom was a spark of the third son (see above Year 3025)].

Bat-Sheva was the granddaughter of Achitofel, and he died at age 32. And he was 8 years old when Eliam his son was born, and his son was 8 years old when Bat-Sheva his daughter was born, and she was 6 years old when Shlomo was born [(Chapter Ben Sorer)]. When David was pursued by Avshalom, he sent his father and mother and brothers to the king of Moav, and he killed them all. Only one of his brothers escaped to the land of Ammon [(Midrash Nasa).

In Seder Olam:] When David fled from Avshalom, Evyatar was standing at the ascent of the Mount of Olives, and he asked through the Urim and Tumim. Then Evyatar withdrew and Tzadok entered, and they returned the Ark to its place. But the Tent of Meeting of Moshe and the fire that descended in his days, and the copper altar that Betzalel made, and the menorah and table were on the bamah in Givon, and they stood there until they came to the eternal house [(Seder Hadoros)].

David established for the Kohanim and Leviim that they should sing at dawn "Give thanks to HaShem, call upon His name" until "Touch not My anointed ones." And in the evenings "Sing to HaShem all the earth" until "And all the people said Amen and praised HaShem." And in the final year he established the watches of the Kehuna and Leviya, and arranged the whole House, and found 25,000 Leviim who were singers, and of them 5,000 played instruments [(Seder Hadoros)].

David [and Yonatan were a reincarnation of one (Nazir Limud, arrangement 2). The wife of On ben Pelet who saved her husband was reincarnated in Michal daughter of Shaul, and she saved David (Bereishit Nezer) - see Year 3410. The wife of Achish and his daughter were silenced, as it says "He who lacks madness, do I need" - one was the daughter of a king who was silenced in the incident of R' Akiva (see there), and the second in the incident of the king's daughter with the Rashbi (see there).

And in the building student (Bereishit Nezer), Naval was a reincarnation of Bilam (end of Bereishit Nezer) - see Year 2488. Naval was a reincarnation of Lavan (Sefer Kavvanot HaAri, chapter 5). Just as Yaakov guarded the flock of Lavan, so David guarded the flock of Naval (ibid.).

Therefore the second Yud is missing. Avigayil, whose name says "until Naval is my father" - and it was a secret for Leah (writings of the Ari) - see Year 108 for Lavan and Bilam. Avigayil was a reincarnation of Leah (Sefer HaKavvanot in Likutei Trei Asar).

Therefore David guarded the flock of Naval just as Yaakov guarded the flock of Lavan (see Vayetze, Hei, 5) and Bilam (see Parshat Balak). And he was reincarnated in Palimo (see there). Naval was reincarnated in Barzilai HaGiladi, therefore he gave to David and his men to eat, to rectify what in the first reincarnation he did not give (Nazir 78). Bilam was reincarnated in Barzilai, and the root of Barzilai's soul was also in Kamtza himself, and this is "and my end shall be like his" - that the end of Bilam was like Kamtza (Sefer HaKavvanot).

Uzza and Yehido, God, upon the cart. And regarding Avner it is written "to speak to him in peace" - and He struck him in the fifth [rib], for here was added the spirit of Uzza upon Avner, for the judgment was on the shoulder of Yishai, therefore he did not have long life and was killed (Bereishit Nezer). Uziya was his reincarnation (see Year 3115). He counted Israel and Yosef also 5 (end of Shmuel).

Aravna was a spark of Malki-Tzedek who blessed Avraham, and Aravna blessed David - this one was king in Yerushalayim and this one was great over the place of the Temple. And he was a rectification of Efron who sold the Cave of Machpelah and was stingy, and here he was rectified through generosity (Bereishit Nezer)].

The gold that David prepared for his son Shlomo for the building of the Holy Temple - it is found in the books: 1,230 times 1,000,000 ducats of gold. And the silver: 1,200,000 litra. And the bronze was 18,000 times 1,000,000 litra [(Seder Hadoros 15, 2)].

Pinchas ben Elazar was a prophet in the days of David [(according to Ralbag, Melachim Bet 17 and Shoftim 56)] - he was close to 400 years old. [And the opinion of Tzemach David is not so, see there. And see in Tosafot in the chapter of HaMekabel whether Pinchas is Eliyahu. And in Bereishit Rabbah chapter 60 it seems that Pinchas is Eliyahu (see Yuchsin in Seder Olam) - in chapter 7 they doubled the world, which proves that he is not Pinchas (see there)].

Kuvratan is the burial place of Pinchas, and his father Elazar is in Har Chalchul. And near the village among the rows of olive trees is buried Itamar the Kohen. And in one cave are buried seventy elders, and some say 72 elders [(BeHaDi)].

Benayahu ben Yehoyada was over the Kereti, as mentioned [(Shmuel Bet section 20 and Divrei HaYamim Bet 18)]. He was the son of Yehoyada ben Benayahu, as mentioned [(Divrei HaYamim 27). And the Aruch, entry "achar" chapter 2: Yehoyada ben Benayahu mentioned in Divrei HaYamim 27 was the son of Benayahu ben Yehoyada. And in Sefer Brit Shalom, Parshat Pinchas, he questions the Aruch.

And see Tosafot Sanhedrin (16, 2): there were two Benayahu ben Yehoyada. And Benayahu ben Yehoyada ben Ish Chai, stated in Shmuel Bet section 22, who was in the days of Shlomo at the end of David's reign - he was the son of Yehoyada who was the head of the Sanhedrin, and this Benayahu was appointed under him over the Kereti. And there were two Benayahu ben Yehoyada - one at the beginning of his reign, as mentioned in Shmuel Bet at the end of chapter 8, the Kereti and Peleti, and one at the end of his reign, Benayahu ben Yehoyada over the Kereti, there in section 20.

And the first Benayahu was the father of this one's father, see there (see Year 2635 and Year 3019)]. Between Gavlan, near the road of Ba'al Avanim, is where Benayahu ben Yehoyada is buried [(BeHaDi). Eliezer the servant of Avraham was reincarnated in them (see above Year 2049), and he is Tola ben Puah (see Year 3019)].
