And it came to pass after many days and years, that the children of Esav dwelt in their land securely with Bela their king, and they were fruitful and multiplied. And they took counsel to go to war against the children of Yaakov and all of Egypt, and to rescue Tzepho son of Elifaz, their brother, and his men who were in Egypt as servants to Yosef. And they made peace with the children of Kedem, and all the children of Kedem came, and also the men of Angias king of Dinhava from the children of Yishmael, a thousand men, and they marched against Rameses.
And Yosef and his brothers and all the mighty men of Egypt went out, about four hundred men, and they fought them in the fifth year [it should be the fifth] of the descent of the children of Yaakov to Egypt, which was the thirtieth year of the reign of Bela over the children of Esav in Seir [this is year 2288 of the world]. And they were struck before the children of Yaakov and about a thousand men fell from them.
And Bela son of Beor their king fell in the war. And they fled and Yosef and his brothers and the Egyptians pursued after them for a day's journey and struck about three hundred men of them. And from Yosef and his brothers not a man fell, but from the Egyptians twelve men fell. And it came to pass when Yosef returned to Egypt, he commanded to bind Tzepho and his men in chains, and they continued to oppress them with further burdens.
And the children of Esav saw that their king had died, and they hastened and each man of the children of Kedem took Yovav son of Zerach and made him king over them.
