**And the Lord** said to Noah: "Take yourself a wife and beget children, for I have seen you as righteous, and you and your children with you shall live in the midst of the land." And Noah went and took a wife, and he chose Naamah daughter of Enoch. She was 580 years old, and Noah was 498 years old—this being the year 1555 of creation [(Sefer HaYashar)]. And it is written in the Hagahot that this contradicts the words of the Sages who said that Naamah, the sister of Tubal-Cain son of Lamech, was the wife of Noah.

And it appears here that she was the daughter of Enoch. Perhaps they had a tradition that Noah's wife was named Naamah, and since they did not find in Scripture that she was called Naamah except as the sister of Tubal-Cain as mentioned, they thought this was her. But they did not see this book which states that Naamah was another person, and she was the daughter of Enoch—thus ends the Hagahot. And see Bereishit Rabbah chapter 22: "The sister of Tubal-Cain was Naamah"—R.

Abba bar Kahana said: Naamah was Noah's wife, and why was she called Naamah? Because her deeds were pleasant. And the Rabbanan said: She was a different Naamah, and why was she called Naamah? Because she would beat the drum for idolatry—thus ends the passage.

So the Rabbanan held like this book that Noah's wife was not Naamah the sister of Tubal-Cain. And it is puzzling why Rashi in Parshat Bereishit wrote that Noah's wife was Naamah the sister of Tubal-Cain, following R. Abba and not the Rabbanan. And currently I do not have Rashi's commentators at hand to see if they noticed this]:
